33rd ANNUAL DETROIT JAZZ FESTIVAL “IMPORTED FROM DETROIT” KICKS OFF AUG 31
Festival attendees will see a lineup of world-renowned musicians playing throughout the weekend, including headliners Wayne Shorter, Pat Metheny, Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea and Gary Burton. Performances kick off at 7 p.m. on Aug. 31 with Artist in Residence Terence Blanchard taking the stage, followed by the legendary Sonny Rollins.
The Soul Food Music Festival
The Soul Food Music Festival is the official Labor Day weekend celebration in Downtown Columbus Ohio! Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy two full days of live concerts featuring some of the best Rhythm & Blues performers. Taste some of the greatest lip smacking finger licking, soul food cooking and desserts east of the Mississippi River! Shop at the soul vendor’s market place, featuring ethnic artwork, clothes, jewelry, and all sorts of cool accessories. Enjoy the “soul night laser light show, as we make history performing the largest soul train unity dance line in the entire nation. Don’t delay make your plans for Labor Day weekend with us! Proceeds from the Soul Food Music Festival supports “Making the Peace Initiatives” in Central Ohio.
